Todd Rubinstein, the Head Tennis Coach at Alonzo and Tracy Mourning Senior High, is the founder of Sunshine State Tennis and as well, is originally from Hollywood, Florida. Todd is a former #1 USTA Florida ranked singles, doubles and mixed doubles player and has been ranked as high as #3 in the United States. He attended and played #1 singles and #1 doubles for Barry University in Miami Shores, Florida from 1988 - 1992, which has gone on to win multiple NCAA Division II National Tennis Championships; where as well, he received his B.A. in Communication, his M.S. in Exceptional Student Education and his Ed.S in Educational Leadership. Todd has also been a member of the USPTA since 1992, was accepted into the USTA High Performance Coaching Program, has his USTA Sports Science credential, is a former NTRP rater, was a member of USTA Intersectional National Finalist Team Florida in 2007, is a two-time FHSAA Singles Champion, a three-time USTA Florida Men's Doubles State Champion, a two-time USTA Florida Sectional Team Champion, a two-time USTA Florida Men's Singles State Finalist, a Florida Cup Winner and a five-time USTA National Mixed Doubles Silver and Bronze Ball winner.
Over the past 20+ years, Todd has worked on and off the court with diverse players of all levels and abilities, including numerous ATP, WTA, ITF, USTA, NCAA and FHSAA players and as well, has been mentored by and worked closely with some of the foremost coaching minds in the game of tennis, such as:

Tournament Tough founder Carlos Gioffi, who coached legendary players John and Patrick McEnroe, Luke and Murphy Jensen, Vitas Gerulatis, ESPN Commentator Mary Carillo and doubles specialist Peter Fleming.

Former Ecuadorian Davis Cup player Colon Nunez, who trained incredible talents including Michael Chang, Andres Gomez, Mary Pierce, former ATP #1 doubles player Hans Gildermeister, top ITF junior Nicolas Pereira and Croatian sensation Ivo Karlovic, who's clocked with one of the fastest serves in the world at 156 mph.

The motivational Steve Raynor, who's worked with former top ranked ATP and ITF players such as Jay Berger (Head of USTA Men's Player Development), Dean Goldfine (Assistant USA Olympic and Assistant USA Davis Cup coach, and as well, coached former top ranked ATP and WTA players Andy Roddick, Aaron Krickstein, Todd Martin and Mary Joe Fernandez) and former #1 ITF player Ivan Baron, who is currently the Tournament Director of the Delray Beach Open, which is an ATP 250 Tournament, as well as a Champions Event.

Head Coach in Charge of Player Development at the Evert Tennis Academy Ean Meyer, who has worked with numerous ATP, WTA and ITF players.
Since Todd has taken over the tennis program as the Boy's and Girl's Head Coach at Alonzo & Tracy Mourning Senior High School in Miami, Florida, he has had outstanding seasons. During his 2014 - 2015 season, his Boy's Sharks finished tied for 4th at the FHSAA 3A State High School Tennis Championships in Altamonte Springs, Florida and had an overall record of 23 - 1. This included an undefeated regular season! In his 2015 - 2016 season, he brought back Mourning High's first ever state championship, as his #1 boy's singles player won the 3A FHSAA State Tennis Individual Championships and his #1 boy's doubles team reached the State Individual Semi-Finals. In his 2016 - 2017 season, Todd brought back Mourning High's second State Championship in consecutive years, as Tom Jaworski and Edward Luca won the FHSAA 3A State Individual Doubles Championships, defeating Viera (Melbourne) in the Final 6-2, 6-3. This made 2 State Championships for Tom Jaworski and Edward Luca's first! In 2015, Todd was elected to the FHSAA Tennis Advisory Committee and as well, is a member of the National High School Athletic Coaches Association, the Florida High School Coaches Association and the Florida Athletic Coaches Association. Todd is also the Director of Tennis at Quarantine Tennis and as well, is the Special Education Chairperson at Mourning High.
In 2016, Todd received the FHSTCA Wilson 3A Florida High School Tennis Coach of the Year Award and in 2017, he was again honored as the recipient of the prestigious USPTA Florida High School Coach of the Year Award and as well, excitedly named Mourning High's Coach of the Year! In 2017, Todd was also named as the Team USA Head Tennis Coach for the 20th World Maccibiah Games in Israel, which is the third largest sporting event in the world! In 2018, Todd was not only awarded as the USPTA District 16 Professional of the Year, but he was also honored as the USPTA National High School Coach of the Year during the U.S. Open at the Grand Hyatt in New York City. To say Todd was grateful of this wonderful honor would be an understatement!
Todd's work has been featured on numerous media outlets throughout the country, such as: the Today Show, Entertainment Tonight, Fox's Deco Drive, ABC's Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, NPR, USA Today, The Miami Herald and countless others.
